F135: Rare Mid 19th Century German Seebass Iron Chess Set

Portraying Hermann vz. Varus (Germans vs Romans)

Richard Seebass previously worked for the Zimmermann foundry. Kings 9cms tall. The rooks and knights are very finely modeled.
This form of set was presented to Paul Morphy when he won the first American Chess Congress in 1857.
The black King's shield is engraved 'Seebass & Ci Offenbach a/M'.
