P76: Early English Wooden Chess Set, 18t Century
This form is quite unusual, the pieces are monoblock in construction.
One side boxwood the other very finely figured rosewood.
Note inverted balusters, early rook form, and very narrow bishop mitre.
Kings and queens have similar top sections in design another early characteristic.
Knights heads are similar in form to other early 'Washington' form knights of the period.
