White king with over-stamped Leuchars mark, comes with original Leuchars Carton Pierre Casket.
Casket has hand signed label

One side boxwood the other ebony. Heads of dark knights are stained boxwood as early sets of this form are. Has a date lozenges on bottom of black queen.
The hand written number of the remains of the label on the bottom of the casket is not easy to make out but we think is : 455 - circa 1850
