S131: Quality Antique English Chess Set probably by Jaques or Merrifield in Boxwood and Rosewood

Finely made,mid 19th century chess set, most probably by the famous London maker Jaques. King 9.4cms tall.

Note the high quality dense rosewood used for the black side and well carved knights heads.
