S240: Very Early Antique English Chess Set

Note urn shape of pieces and slope form knights, this form was used in the 18th century. The wider disks are also a sign of an earlier set.
Wonderful patina in fruitwood and stained fruitwood.
On the bottom of the pieces are the triple marks from the early lathe used. Kings 7.5cms tall.
